A Review of the MtG Idyllic Tutor

A Review of the MtG Idyllic TutorAn E-book that is devoted to the makeover of a child's attitude is called the MtG Idyllic Tutor. If you're a parent who is willing to give a second chance, you can definitely get some helpful information by reading the e-book. Here are some of the features that you'll be able to see in the E-book.Start focusin g on your children. It would be very beneficial if you can recognize what your kids are thinking and feeling at that particular moment. Look at their faces and hear their reactions to situations. Are they calm or are they being silly? These are the things that you can learn from observing their behavior.Don't become irritated if your child acts out. This way, you won't get the same reactions in return. Make it a point to stop thinking about the reaction if the reaction won't happen.Make sure that you communicate clearly with your children. Write down everything that you said. This way, you can get a clearer idea about what your kids' reactions are. Most of the time, children would say things that they don't know what they really mean.Take a visual method to observe how your kids react. Make a note of what your kids do on a daily basis. Once you've observed this, the next step is to predict what your kids will do next.Have a think about what you have done right and what you have done wrong. It's not possible to anticipate all the bad things that your children will do. So, rather than forcing them, just take a step back and try to figure out why you did this or why you shouldn't have done that.

10 Weird (but Common) Questions Voice Teachers Get - Answered!

10 Weird (but Common) Questions Voice Teachers Get - Answered! Suzy S. As youre learning to sing, youll likely have a lot of questions. And dont worry, thats what your voice teacher is there for! Once youve got the basics down, though, you might realize some of your beginner questions were  a littlewell silly! Here, teacher  Elaina R.  answers some of the common questions  and  lays some rumors to rest As a voice teacher, I get asked some pretty weird questions about singing. In fact, I get so many that I decided to write an article about it! Here are the weirdest questions students ask voice teachers â€" and the answers you may have been wondering about yourself that can help you become a better singer. Let’s start with this eye-opening question. First of all, I hate it when people talk about singing from the diaphragm. Steve Martin reportedly popularized the phrase “sing from the diaphragm” in his comedy sketches, and he isn’t exactly an authority on the voice. There are three major muscle groups involved in breathing, and this statement discounts two of them. Secondly, hunching over definitely does not help with proper breathing! Hunching over collapses the torso, reducing the volume of air that you can breathe in. Heres a helpful infographic on proper breathing and posture. No, it’s a sharp. Learning the basics of reading music (including key signatures, note values, and the two basic clefs) makes you much more flexible as a singer. Check out my introduction to reading music to get started! Nope. Women can’t be tenors, but I don’t blame you for getting confused. Voice types are hard to define, and the many subsections and qualifiers make it a convoluted topic. The two basic voice types for women are soprano and mezzo-soprano (known as alto in choral settings). Check out this introduction to voice types to learn more. No, it doesn’t. Tilting your head up actually strains your neck, making it more difficult to sing. Go ahead and stretch your head up, then try talking. Do you hear how strained your voice sounds? That’s exactly what happens when you try to sing in this position. No, no, no! Ive had students get faint during lessons because they didn’t have enough to eat beforehand. I’ve actually had to feed one student during a lesson! While its true that the stomach is right under the diaphragm (an important breathing muscle) and that going to a buffet immediately before a lesson isn’t a good idea, please don’t starve yourself. My small stature (I am five feet tall) has made me a target of the “you have such a loud voice for such a small person!” comment ever since I can remember. But in actuality, just like the general population, opera singers come in all shapes and sizes. Singers of my voice type (coloratura soprano) are often my size. Remember how the stomach is located directly under the diaphragm? Deep breathing compresses many of your organs, including the stomach. This causes some people to burp. To avoid excessive burping during your voice lessons, don’t drink anything carbonated on your way to class. These questions get their own category because I have gotten so many of them. Here are some of the strangest ones: Is singing in head voice bad for you? Is head voice “fake singing”? Does chest voice come from your chest? Head voice and chest voice are just the two main registers of the human voice. They both come from the vocal cords, not the actual head and chest (names can be deceptive). And no, neither of them is bad for you. Still wondering about the difference between the two? Check out this quick video lesson for further clarification. Bring On The Weird Questions Dont worry: weird questions about the voice are good! There isn’t a lot of reliable vocal information out there, and airing out your strangest queries can help you learn about your  voice. So don’t be afraid to ask your voice teacher about any of your vocal musings; the answers may help you become a better singer! Post Author:  Elaina R. I Didnt Get the GCSE Results Needed for Sixth Form College

I Didn't Get the GCSE Results Needed for Sixth Form College So, you didn't get the GCSE results needed for your chosen Sixth Form College. Before you try any one of our options below,  first  contact your chosen college as soon as possible! They might let you in, anyway. If not, don’t worry! There are still options. Exam resits Speak to your chosen college before deciding to re-sit; some colleges may allow you to re-sit GCSEs alongside your AS Levels. It is true that many students do far better in re-sits, but your teacher will know your capabilities well. If your teacher believes you won’t improve, it might not be worth the effort. Remember that resitting exams can be lonely and will increase your workload. A-Levels are a big step up from GCSEs so bear that in mind when deciding. If you decide to take another year to prepare for Sixth  Form and get better GCSE results that’s perfectly okay â€" you really don’t have to go through AS and A2 exactly when everyone else does. You don’t have to re-sit at the same school either.  There are 5th   and 6th form colleges that specialize in putting students through GCSE resits â€" or you can always study at home, with a private tutor if necessary, and sit your exams as an External Candidate. An experienced tutor should be able to help you with this. Ask for a remark If you feel your mark does not reflect how well you performed, you can request a remark. The more subjective the subject is, the more chance the score could change. In other words, you’re more likely to get a remark in English or Humanities subjects than in Maths and Science. For the less subjective subjects it might be worth just asking for the ‘clerical’ remark service (i.e. did the examiner miss out any questions when marking, or add your marks up wrong?) which is often cheaper. Ask your subject teacher for advice on this and  bear in mind your mark could go down as well as up, so if you’re just a few marks above a grade boundary this could be a risky strategy! Search for another college Search for another college with lower entry requirements. You’ll need to contact the college admissions to check if there are still free places. As always, ask your school careers adviser for help and advice on this. Don’t make a rushed decision; it takes time to  discuss the pros and cons for each college choice. Retake the year You could retake the year to achieve the grades required to attend your chosen College. Before going ahead with this option, contact your chosen college and check that they will accept you if you were to retake the year. Remember that retaking the year might be difficult and could be lonely, but many students find A Levels a big step up from GCSEs, so there could well be advantages in taking one more year to prepare yourself for 6th form. Other Options You could consider other options such as vocational courses or apprenticeships. Again, speak to your careers adviser for help and guidance.

Guide to Prepare for Parent Teacher Conferences - ALOHA Mind Math

Guide to Prepare for Parent Teacher Conferences ALOHA Mind Math offers educational tips for parents to communicate with teachers during and after the Parent Teacher Conference. Before going into the parent teacher conference ALOHA Mind Math suggests there are several things a parent can do ahead of time to prepare themselves and their child. Keep in mind that an older child is usually more stressed than a younger child. It is the added pressure they feel on themselves and the unknown of what the meeting will uncover. To relieve the added stress, agree with the child that whatever the issues, together you will both enter the meeting with an attitude to assist the teacher to make things better and focus on improving. Remember that this is a stressful day for the teacher too. She is meeting parents every few minutes to review their child’s school performance. This is not the environment or the time to get into deep conversations or dive into the challenges at hand. Set a separate appointment to review what was discussed. The purpose of a parent teacher conference is to obtain a snapshot of the child’s learning. The first thing a parent can do is basic attend all of the meetings with the teachers. Being an informed parent can ease everyone going into the meeting. School Attendance Is the child arriving to school regularly? Or is he too early, or too late? If the school has not informed the parent of these mishaps then you can briefly directly address those then. Classroom Participation and Behavior If there have been issues in the classroom, teachers normally inform parents of excessive behavior in advance of the mid-year report. The teacher will review the child’s behavior and participation in class. Is the student cooperative, follows directions, and interacts with classmates well? Do they have a great attitude? Do they help other students in areas they excel? If needed, schedule a conversation of life disruptions or stresses that have affected the family and the child and their learning. Classroom Learning Parents can also ask their child about their learning. Surprisingly they can uncover quite a bit of information from a casual conversation about school in general, or what they like the most, what their biggest challenges are and why. This can be useful during the conference. The teacher will discuss whether the child is paying attention in class. Is his learning on average or above his peers? Standardized Tests Performance How does the child perform on these tests? What does the teacher see as their strengths, as well as areas that need more attention? Does the teacher see any patterns, or new learning or memory issues that signal future challenges or strengths? How can these be addressed at school and at home? Improvements in Learning Every parent wants their child to do well in school. Ask the teacher “Is my child working up to his ability? What can my child do to improve in those areas at school and at home? How can I assist? How can my child advance his skills and enhance learning both at school and home?” After the Parent Teacher Conference Now that the conference is over ALOHA Mind Math suggests the following steps to keep lines of communication open with the school. Set an appointment to review your concerns or life challenges that could affect his learning. Create a regular daily or weekly routine for about 5 to 10 minutes to examine the school website, social media page, or other means the school communicates with parents. Review the homework and projects schedule. This will keep the family updated to avoid procrastination of projects due the next day. Communicate regularly with the teacher and stay in touch regarding the child’s progress. This keeps you more involved with what is going on with the child at school. Everyone is more connected and updated on school activities, assignments, projects, in-service days, holidays, etc. Another advantage is that all parties are being kept updated on his learning, behavior, strengths, and challenges. Being an informed parent and prepared daily makes for a better relationship with the child and school; this in turn correlates to better attitude, behavior, and education performance.

How To Be More Body Positive in 2018

How To Be More Body Positive in 2018 Image via. https://pixabay.com/en/belly-body-calories-diet-exercise-2354/ Instagram Don’t get me wrong, I love Instagram. However, studies have shown the Instagram leads to decreased mental well-being either based on the pictures that we post or the people that we follow. Following women like Kendall Jenner or the Hadid sisters is fun because they post exciting stuff, but seeing their photos on a daily basis can unconsciously affect how you feel about yourself. You can definitely still follow these women, but also follow fitness models, Ashley Graham, Chrissy Teigen, and others who don’t necessarily value “skinniness,” but rather, they value healthiness. I am in no way saying that Kendall Jenner and the Hadid sisters don’t value being healthy, I’m just saying that their body types are ones that can make other people feel bad about themselves because they are somewhat unattainable. Some people have even deleted Instagram for a period of time and have said that it has helped their mental health tremendously, which is something to think about. Journaling I never used to journal, even though I love to write. However, I’m enrolled in a class this semester where our weekly assignment is to journal about a given topic that revolves around mental health. I’m not saying that you have to journal, but I am suggesting that you take a few minutes every day to write down something amazing about yourself and your body. These notes are private, so you can say whatever you want. By doing this, you are reminding yourself how beautiful you are and how your body is perfect and that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, genders, skin colors, sexual orientations, and more. Collect all of these little notes and put them in a special place and, on days where you are feeling down about yourself, go through these notes so that you are reminded about how beautiful you are. Each and every woman is beautiful in her own unique way and this is something that should be declared and celebrated. Image via. https://www.pexels.com/photo/attractive-beautiful-beauty-body-320005/ Dress Up When I am feeling down about my body, I like to cover up in baggy clothing and don’t put much effort into my appearance. If there is a particular day where you are feeling extra down about the way you look, use it as an opportunity to dress up a bit! Instead of wearing leggings or sweatpants, put on jeans. Instead of wearing an oversized sweater and shirt, put on a more fitted long or short sleeved top. You should never feel like you have to hide your body and by going outside of your comfort zone on days where you are feeling especially vulnerable, you will become more body confident because you will realize how amazing you are and how amazing you look. Wearing jeans instead of sweatpants may sound silly, but just changing up your daily appearance will do wonders for how you see yourself and when you look in the mirror. Judging/Comparing If we want to promote body positivity, it is imperative that we stop (1) comparing ourselves to other people and (2) judging other people by the way that they look. Everyone is unique and everyone looks different and rather than putting down these differences, we should embrace our differences and realize that beauty isn’t something that is clean-cut. It is also important not to compare yourself to another person on the street. If you are walking to class and feel envious about the way another girl looks, you should remind yourself that yes, she may be beautiful, but you’re beautiful too because of x, y, and z. Women need to empower one another and not break each other down because of jealousy or unnecessary feelings of superiority. Let’s build each other up, not put each other down. Let’s make 2018 the year of body positivity. I want all of my readers to know that you are beautiful, inside and out, and that your body is perfect just the way it is. Don’t be clouded by the media and other people’s judgments… push back on this negativity and remind yourself of your beauty.

Friend Zoning From Sexual to Platonic in One Day

Friend Zoning From Sexual to Platonic in One Day Courtesy of Flickr.com and a hundred visions and revisions. For whatever the reason, friend zoning someone is an art. To be done well, it requires thoughtful consideration of the other persons feelings, especially if youve already gone on a few dates. You went on those dates to get to know the person, but now that you do, youre no longer attracted. This is normal and nothing to feel bad about, but its best to end things sooner rather than later. Its time to friend zone. Whats the best way to do this, you might ask. Luckily for you, Ive conducted research on the subject that dates back hundreds, nay, thousands of years, from Hercules friend zoning Meg because she took too much time away from his bicep curls, to Queen Elizabeth friend zoning all suitors because, well, she had a deathly fear of penises. As a result of my arduous studying, I can confidently say Ive become a friend-zone expert. Here are the best ways to gracefully reject a person and put him or her in the friend zone. 1) Create an elaborate riddle for the person, complete with clues that lead to more clues. Make it difficult to solve, but not so difficult that its unsolvable. The last clue will lead to a Hallmark card. Be sure to buy a stupid one, something like, A friend is someone you can share anything with, whether its your darkest secret, your forbidden crush, or (open card) that piece of cake! Write this message in the card, I know its not your birthday, but I wanted you to know how much I cherish our FRIENDSHIP. 2) Go bowling for your next date. Nothing says friend like wearing those clownish shoes, awkwardly heaving that heavy ball, and slipping along on a waxed floor. Make sure to high-five your date after each turn. At the end of the round, say, Im so glad we did this! None of my other friends ever want to bowl with me! 3) Play Monopoly with the person. Make sure its just the two of you, and that the game lasts at least three hours. Be fiercely competitive. If you have the Park Place card and she has Boardwalk, dont accept any of her trade proposals. Dates play board games to lose. Friends play board games to friggin conquer. 4) Watch My Best Friends Wedding and Friends in the same day. Be sure to emphasize how you two are just like the characters with platonic relationships. 5) Do homework together. If you can focus (or at least feign focus) on the Encyclopedia of 20th-Century   Architecture while she is in the same room, youre sure to get your point across. 6) Work on your fitness with her at your nearby recreation center. You have two options for this one: lag so far behind that she wonders if this is the first time youve worked out, or embarrass her with a tireless regimen. Be sure to sweat profusely for either option. Friends sweat together at the gym. Lovers sweat together not at the gym. Friend zoning someone is a tough thing to do. Hopefully these will allow you to avoid simply telling the person you only want to be friendsnothing is more cliche than that.

Learning Languages Through Movies at Any Skill Level

Learning Languages Through Movies at Any Skill Level Learning Languages Through Movies at Any Skill Level The question of whether or not learning language  through  movies actually works has been hotly debated by language experts and teachers over the years. The verdict?Well, I argue that foreign language movies are an absolutely vital part of any language learners experience. Its every bit as powerful as watching TV shows and entire TV series in a foreign language. Maybe even more so, since movies allow you to press pause on real life for over an hour and fully immerse yourself in the language. The more time you can make for your target language, the better, so popping in a foreign movie in place of an English one is a great way to increase your exposure to the language. But in any language you might be learning, there are tons of movies out there to choose from. What you can learn from these movies varies greatly, depending on your level and how you approach them. All you need to do is leave the English languageâ€"or whatever your native language isâ€"behind, and step out of your cinematic c omfort zone. Its time to explore some favorite flicks in your target language and start learning serious language lessons from them. Learning Languages Through Movies at Any Skill LevelSo how can you get the most out of learning language through movies at your specific level? Lets start with the beginners.Beginning Learners: Foreign Language Movies for Excitement and MotivationLet me break it to you now, you are not going to learn an entire new language from solely watching movies. As a beginner you probably arent even going to learn some basics from watching movies. What a movie can give you in these early stages is something else very important: passion, enthusiasm and excitement for your new language. Choose the right movie and, after watching, you will most likely be left with strong desire to learn the language so that you can meet the people who speak it and venture into their world.I owe most of my decision to start learning Spanish to a Mexican movie, Y tu mamá también (I f you havent seen the film, I recommend it, no matter what language youre learning). When I went to see this movie at the cinema, I had already vaguely considered learning Spanish. But during the movie  I fell in love with the Spanish language and the passion with which it was spoken by the movies characters. I also fell in love with the culture and scenery of Mexico, which this movie opened a window to.What this movie gave me, as well as a fantastic introduction to some Mexican swear words, was a strong determination to become so accomplished in Spanish that I could understand the movie without subtitles. If you can find a movie that gives you that amount of motivation to learn a language, then watching foreign language movies is very important for any beginner. Of course, what follows is many many hours of study, practice and immersion before you will do anything close to learning the language, but every language learner needs a motivation and a wonderful foreign movie could be you rs.How to watch foreign movies at a beginners levelAt this level, watch a foreign movie with English subtitles and dont even worry about trying to understand the language, just enjoy the movie and soak up the culture.Intermediate Learners: Foreign Language Movies for a Native Accent and Sharp EarLike the beginners, as an intermediate student youll still have a lot to learn about your new language. Youll have yet to tackle some of the trickier aspects of grammar, but watching a full-length movie isnt going to help much with that. Keep watching those movies though, because once you have some familiarity with your target language, its still a very useful activity to supplement your structured study. At this level, you can use movies to gain familiarity with the rhythm and sounds of a language. One thing that some people find really challenging when learning a language is mastering the accent. Hearing the accent regularly in movies will make you feel more comfortable with the sounds your e aiming to mimic.Youll also spot and recognize words every now and then during a movie, which will be extremely rewarding. It will prove to yourself that you are genuinely making progress. Its a great feeling to get that little spark of excitement when a recognizable word suddenly jumps out at you. I also find that hearing a word I recognize in a real life context also helps that word stick in my memory. If you want to use this sticky context  to directly learn that grammar and vocabulary weve so far set aside, then I recommend watching movie trailers on FluentU.  FluentU takes real-world videosâ€"like music videos, movie trailers, news and inspiring talksâ€"and turns them into personalized language learning lessons! How to watch foreign language films at an intermediate levelAt this level, watch foreign movies with English subtitles, but try and tune in to the language just a little, even for a couple of minutes at a time. You could also try watching a movie in your own language wit h foreign subtitles. If you hear an interesting phrase and youd like to know how it translates, glance at the subtitles to find out.Advanced Learners: Foreign Language Movies for Vocabulary and Retaining LevelHere is where movies really start to be an excellent resource for language learners. Youve been learning your language for years, youre comfortable with every grammatical construction and maybe youve even lived abroad to immerse yourself in the language.Youve reached a point where youre relatively fluent, and all you really need to do now is expand your vocabulary and make sure you dont lose what youve worked so hard to learn.Watching movies or TV series at this level is a genuinely enjoyable way to maintain and expand on what you know of your second language.I also find that spending an hour or two watching a Spanish movie, for example, sets my brain into Spanish mode and leaves me thinking in Spanish for a couple of hours after. This definitely makes it a great way to prepare for a speaking test or a meeting with a language exchange partner! How to watch foreign language films at an advanced levelAt this level you can go native and take the plunge with a foreign language movie without subtitles. If thats a little too intimidating (lets face it, a movie with an unusual accent or a lot of slang can be tricky to understand even for the most fluent language speaker), adding subtitles in your target language is the best move. You could also try watching a favorite classic English movie dubbed in the language youre learning. I recently watched Back to the Future dubbed in Spanish, and not only was it great fun to revisit an old favorite, but it gave me some welcome exposure to Spanish as well. How to Find a Great Foreign Language Movie to WatchOne really key point to remember when finding a movie, no matter your level, is that you need to be watching movies you enjoy! You know what your favorite film genres are, so use that knowledge to guess which movies youll like in your target language. However, you may find that some genres are not as well represented in some languages as they are in others. For example, you may have trouble finding a Lord of the Rings-style special effects extravaganza in Greek (unless it is, of course, Lord of the Rings dubbed in Greek!).Instead of starting from scratch at Google, we have several helpful guides for you with specific movie recommendations for the following target languages:Chinese  movies English  moviesFrench  moviesGerman  moviesJapanese  moviesSpanish  movies | Argentine moviesIf youd like to keep your finger on the pulse of whats hot in the world of foreign cinema, larger cities often hold film festivals focusing on particular languages or regions of the world. The films featured in these festivals have been hand-picked, and the festival listings will usually be online. So you could search, for example, Spanish film festival 2015 or Latin American film festival 2015 in order to read in English abou t the latest good releases. It of course doesnt matter whether or not theres a film festival near you; the point is to use the titles from the festivals to get a hold of your own copy of any of the listed movies youd like to watch.Another great way to find movies that youre going to enjoy is to watch out for any actor/actress you like in a foreign movie, and then use IMDb  to see what other films theyve appeared in. If you find the actor or actress particularly funny or attractive, thats already a good sign that youll enjoy watching him or her in other movies. Believe me, Ive chosen to watch a few Spanish films simply because of their good-looking leading man!So, Get Watching! As long as you remember that movies in a foreign language are no substitute for study and practice, you should absolutely add them to your language learning repertoire. At the very least, movies are going to give you a really useful and fascinating insight into the culture of your new language, and maybe even an interesting topic of conversation when you meet a native speaker for a language exchange. As you can now see, learning language through movies is a real possibilityâ€"and a really fun possibility at that. Its time to get watching! And One More ThingIf you dig learning language through movies, youll love using FluentU. FluentU makes it possible to learn languages  from music videos, commercials, news and inspiring talks. With FluentU, you learn real languagesâ€"the same way that natives  speak them. FluentU has a wide variety of videos like movie trailers, funny commercials and web series, as you can see here:FluentU App Browse Screen.FluentU has interactive captions that let you tap on any word to see an image, definition, audio and useful examples. Which E1, E2, and E3 Chemistry Tutor Should You Hire?

Which E1, E2, and E3 Chemistry Tutor Should You Hire?Chemical engineering students need to decide which E1, E2, and E3 chemistry tutor they should hire. Although there are three options available to students, there is one factor that each option requires that makes it the best one for them. If you are interested in a career in the chemical engineering field, then this article will help you find the right fit for you.Students that do not have an understanding of the inner workings of chemistry can benefit from having an instructor who is familiar with this field. An instructor that has experience can teach students the mechanics of chemical reactions. A student that has a good grasp of the concepts taught by an instructor with experience will understand the true meaning of a reaction and what the true problems are associated with a chemical reaction. This is something that will come in handy when a problem develops in the course.A chemistry tutor that does not have an understanding of the chemistry of the class will be hard-pressed to be able to fully explain the chemical reactions and how they occur. Students will be unable to understand the processes that are in place, causing them to be confused and frustrated when troubles arise. Therefore, you want a chemistry tutor that can handle problems on the fly without much delay and when they occur, your students will feel more confident in their abilities. The Chemistry Tutor you hire should be willing to communicate with your students. They should also offer explanations for chemical reactions and how they work. Your students will appreciate these additional details if they know what they are missing. Having the patience to wait until your students have questions answered is imperative. For your first semester of chemistry, you may want to consider hiring a Sn1, Sn2, or Sn3. It all depends on what you are getting out of the tutoring session. The higher the level of knowledge of the student, the more time you will ha ve to interact with the student so that they get more of an understanding of the concept. You will need to make sure that the course has enough time for you to assess your student and make sure they are doing well. You will want to know how they are doing, what their strengths and weaknesses are, and what they would like to improve on. Remember, your goal is to help your student understand the science of chemistry and develop an ability to apply that knowledge to problems outside of the classroom. You will want to make sure your student is learning in the correct manner and not wasting their time because they do not understand. To find the best possible E1, E2, and E3 chemistry tutor, be sure to ask about the different options available to you. Consider your options, talk to friends and family who are enrolled in a chemistry course, and gather as much information as you can to make the best decision for you. When you do, you will have a mentor that can provide great help to you and yo ur students.
